The goal | Introducing the students with fundamentals of modeling of object's motion in space, guidance methods, navigation, and stabilization along the nominal trajectory. Introducing the application of optimal methods of estimation and control in order to control the motion.
The outcome | Understanding the nature of motion control process from the aspects of: object's dynamics, maneuver requirements, stability, nature of noise and disturbances, and the accuracy. Enabling the students for modeling of motion control and navigation processes nad system synthesis.
Contents | ||||
Contents of lectures | Kinematic model of motion, Coordinate systems and transformations between them, Dynamic model of flight, Methods of proportional navigation, extended proportional navigation, and optimal homing, Autonomous systems - navigation and autopilots. Application of optimal estimation methods.
Contents of exercises | Case studies: analysis of homing missiles, integration of navigation systems, automatic control of robot motion. Individual realizations of simulation models of guidance, navigation, and tracking systems
