The goal | The aim of course is introduction to the class of the monolithic digital and analogue IC based on Si, GaAs, semiconductor heterostructures and polymers and IC in hybrid technique, their fabrication and performances. Learning in characteristics optimization in designing ( speed, power …) election of technological and geometrical parameters, and technology and techniques of manufacturing.
The outcome | Students learn at required level about digital ICs design, performance, optimization, technology and geometry parameters. Using comparative analysis students gain insight into inner working of logic families and their application. Student shall also learn some knowledge on using software tools in design and analysis of ICs.
Contents | ||||
Contents of lectures | Digital IC, families and characteristics. Performance optimization using geometrical parameters. Programable logic circuits. Basic analog IC building blocks. Desing of thin and thick layered hybrid IC. Optimization of the circuits design and characteristics. IC based on polymers and techniques of fabrication. Comparison of characteristics with classic circuits. Packing of IC.
Contents of exercises | General performance analysis of simplified cells of industrial logic families (logic levels, noise margins, static curve, IO performance, temperature influence, delays, power…). Use of CAE/CAD tools in analysis an design of IC (Pspice 9.1 Student, Electric CAD, Abel...).
