The goal | Introducing the students to the basic elements of combinational and sequential modules. Students will get to understand the structure and functioning of switching circuit. They will gain the ability to independently design and simulate various switching circuits. | |||
The outcome | By the end of this course, students will be able to: understand the structure of switching circuits; carry out the analysis and synthesis of switching circuits; use combinational and sequential modules. | |||

Contents of lectures | Design of basic combinational and sequential modules. Design and simulation of complex combinational and sequential switching circuits. | |||
Contents of exercises | Design and simulation of basic combinational modules using visual simulator: multiplexer, demultiplexer, decoder, coder, incrementer, decrementer, serial/parallel adder, arithmetic unit, logic unit, arithmetic-logic unit, comparator, registers and counters implemented using flip-flops. Design of complex modules. | |||
