The goal Introduces students to basic notions and concepts of flexible manufacturing: material processing technology, CNC systems, and FMS, as well as software for computer integrated design/manufacturing (CAD/CAM)
The outcome Students will acquire the knowledge and skills to work with CNC systems and will be prepared for knowledge enhancement.

Contents of lectures INTRO. Non-flexible and flexible automation. TECHNOLOGY OF MATERIAL PROCESSING. Cutting. Plastic deformation. Welding. Non-conventional methods. Quality of processing. Technology planning. CNC SYSTEMS. Technical characteristics. Fundamentals of CNC programming: coordinate systems and key points; program structure; G code programming, CAD/CAM programming tools (SolidCAM/SolidWorks). Robots in FMC.
Contents of exercises CAD/CAM software tools. Lab work - CNC machines, robot and FMC.
