The goal Introduce students to the basic elements of speech communication such as speech production and perception, analysis and processing of speech signal and modern speech technology.
The outcome Creating a background for subsequent courses in speech technologies in the masters and doctoral studies (Speech signal processing, Speech communication: human-computer, Robust processing of speech signals, Speech technologies).

Contents of lectures Elements of acoustic phonetics, physiology of vocal and auditory system, acoustic theory of speech generation, speech perception, perception of masked speech, models of speech perception, speech intelligibility and quality, digital speech signal processing, speech recognition and synthesis, speaker recognition, quality of speech communication, quality improvement methods, speech technology.
Contents of exercises Recording of speech signal base, realization of specialized speech recognition systems and assessment of the quality of speech signal transmission, analysis and synthesis of speech signal based on parametric modeling
