The School of Electrical Engineering – Coordinator of the Serbian Artificial Intelligence Factory Antenna – SAIFA

The European Commission has selected 13 national AI Factory Antennas across Europe, which will expand the network of existing AI Factories and enable access to advanced artificial intelligence (AI) resources for researchers, industry, and the public sector in all participating countries.

Among the selected projects is SAIFA – the Serbian Artificial Intelligence Factory Antenna, which will be led by our school. The project is valued at 3.8 million euros.

The Serbian Artificial Intelligence Antenna Factory (SAIFA) aims to become a national hub providing users in Serbia with access to computing resources, AI tools, datasets, and consultancy services, with a focus on applying artificial intelligence in the areas of language and culture, sustainability, healthcare, and agriculture. The project connects national capacities with PHAROS AI Factory (Greece) and IT4LIA AI Factor (Italy), enabling the validation, testing, and scalable deployment of AI solutions in line with European standards.

In addition to the School of Electrical Engineering, University of Belgrade as the coordinator, the project partners include: the Institute of Physics Belgrade (IPB), the Mihajlo Pupin Institute, the Institute for Artificial Intelligence Research and Development of Serbia, the Faculty of Science, University of Kragujevac, the Institute of Molecular Genetics and Genetic Engineering, University of Belgrade (IMGGE), the FEFA Metropolitan University, and the Office for IT and eGovernment of the Government of the Republic of Serbia.
