    The goal The aim of this course is to explain relevant aspects of sound signal transmission from a source to a listener. It has been presented to the students a collection of topics recognized as relevant ones for understanding of recording, processing and reproduction of the sound.
    The outcome After the course students will understand technical and user's aspects of audio system implementation in the circumstances they are used for, such as sound reinforcement, radio and TV stations, theatres
    Contents
    Contents of lectures Introduction to audio systems. Human perception of sound. Characteristics of audio systems. Audio signals: types, dynamic characteristics, measurements. Input acoustic environment and microphone concept. Spatial information and stereo. Audio devices: types and functions, connecting and power supply. Sound reproduction, sound reinforcement. Acoustic design of input and output acoustic environment.
    Contents of exercises Work with the software SOUND FORGE. The basic interventions on audio signal (recording, editing, arrangement of record ). Practical introduction to real audio systems: a concert sound reinforcement system, audio system of theatre, radio and TV stations, cinema.
