The goal Introduce students to up to date telecommunication systems.
The outcome Empowering of students with knowledge sufficient for technical documentation reading and to prepare some typical calculations and measurements on telecommunication systems.
Contents
Contents of lectures Radio communication system. Broadcasting systems: audio and TV. Satellite Systems. Different video broadcasting/multicasting systems. Frequency bands. Frequency planning and frequency assignment and allocations. Fiber Optic Transmission Systems. Wavelength division multiplexing. Cables. Transmission media. System impairments and performance measures. Link budget. Pricing in telecommunications.
Contents of exercises resolving of simple problems and calculations of telecomunication systems parameters.
