The goal | Introducing the students to the basic elements of Personal Computers from the user perspective and exposing them to the PC operating system . Students will get familiar with Internet through tools such as Outlook Express and Internet Explorer and learn how to work with the Microsoft Office suite. They will gain the ability to work independently with the various software packages mentioned above. | |||
The outcome | The students are able to implement and format the different types of documents, such as text, spreadsheet, visual presentation. Also, students will be able to effectively use the basic services of the Internet, Web and e-mail. | |||

Contents of lectures | Personal Computer: computer organization, processor and motherboard, memory modules, other devices, software components. MS Windows operating system. Internet services, Internet addresses, Internet Explorer, e - mail and MS Outlook Express. MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point: concept and usage, examples, document layout, files, document elements, features and tools. | |||
Contents of exercises | MS Word: example, working panel, files, document elements, tools. MS Excel: example, work space, data types, expressions, referencing cells, functions, formatting layout, charts, templates. MS Power Point: demonstrative example, what and how to present, master slide, templates. | |||
