The goal | Familiarize students with laboratory work and equipment. Provide students with hands-on experience in electric circuits assembling and testing. Enable students to acquire essential skills in electrical measurements. Practically verify basic electrical laws and theorems through carefully designed experiments. Demonstrate interesting educative experiments in electromagnetics and circuit theory.
The outcome | Students will be able to conduct basic measurements in electrical engineering, to handle instruments, and to write reports on laboratory work and measurement results.
Contents | ||||
Contents of lectures | Theoretical preparation for the experimental work in the laboratory. Familiarization with basic rules of work and conduct in the laboratory and safety precautions. Familiarization with contents of experiments, basic theoretical backgrounds of the experiments, and pre-experimental considerations and calculations. Familiarization with laboratory equipment and instruments.
Contents of exercises | D.C. circuits. Experiments with simple circuits. Verification of basic laws. Transfigurations. Theorems of superposition, reciprocity, compensation, and Thevenin’s theorem. Capacitors. Magnetic forces and momentums. Coil magnetic field and inductivity. Thompson’s experiment. A.C. circuits. Series and shunt RLC circuit. Resonance and antiresonance.
