The goal | Introducing students to basic principles of measurements and measuring devices used in laboratory practice covered by the course. Learning the mathematical grounds for processing measurement results and expressing uncertainty in measurements, as well as practical implementation of this knowledge to measurements conducted during the course laboratory practice. | |||

Contents of exercises | Measuring liquid and solid substance density, Earth's gravitational constant using a pendulum, Young's modulus of a wire, shear modulus of a wire, rotational inertia of a body using a torsional pendulum, ratio of specific heats cp/cV for air, speed of sound in air using a Kundt tube, specific heat of solid bodies, dependence of water boiling point on pressure, heat of vaporization for water. | |||
