The goal | Introduce students to the high voltage devices and current interruption phenomena in high voltage circuit breakers. | |||
The outcome | Make students capable to understand the oprerating principles of high voltage devices. Introduce students to AC and DC current interruption phenomena and stresses in the circuit breakers during short-circut current interruption. | |||

Contents of lectures | Types of high voltage devices. Contacts resistance. Contacts heating. Electric arc. Operating principles of different types of circuit breakers. Interruption of short circuit current.Stresses in the circuit breakers after the electric arc extintion. | |||
