The goal | Introducing students with concept of SCADA system for control of the electric power system . Understanding the matter and significance of state estimation and electric power systems parameters as whole as well as all its subsystems. Preparing students for using the control systems and structures for electric power systems. | |||

Contents of lectures | SCADA functions. Hierarchical organisation of systems for monitoring and control in electric power sector. Dispatch centre. Communications protocols. State estimation formulated as minimal pondering squares. State estimation for distributed networks. Robust estimation method. Optimal operative planning of MV distributed networks. | |||
Contents of exercises | Demonstration and work on existing measuring devices. Practical implementation of simple measuring systems, depending on the available financial resources. Independent laboratory exercises. Developing software for measurement control systems. Possible to work on the development of new software in this area. | |||
