The goal | Prepare students with the ability to identify and decompose power system operations problems. Prepare students with the ability to prepare input data necessary for solving procedures of different power system operation problems and to formulate objective functions. | |||

Contents of lectures | Load forecasting, loss coefficient calculation, unit commitment module, economic dispatching. Optimal power flow. Linear programming. Newton’s gradient methods. Security analysis. Shift factors calculation algorithm. Transmission costs and transit costs in interconnected power systems calculations. Congestion management. Market splitting algorithm.
