The goal | Learning the basics of the mechanisms of conversion of electrical energy to the heat. Learning about industry plants with such energy conversion. | |||
The outcome | General knowledge about electrical heating discipline. Knowledge needed for designing and construction of electroheat plants and designing the methods of the connection of the plants to public distribution networks. | |||
Contents | ||||
Contents of lectures | Methods of generating the heat from the electricity. Basic theory (Pointing vector) and power converters needed for practical implementation of the heating in technology processes. Design and the construction of electrical heating plants. Temperature control in electrical furnaces. | |||
Contents of exercises | Auditory exercises and 6 laboratory exercises (4 classical, 1 based on the application of modern tools for microcontroller control and 1 based on the application of finite element methods). | |||
