The goal | Introduce students to the methods for measurements specific for power systems area. Students can to produce measurements on magnetic materials , electrical values in the time domain and wave - form measurements and measurements in the high voltage three phase AC currents systems. | |||
The outcome | Qualifying students for performing the measurement of electrical values in the time domain and wave form, measurements on magnetic materials and measurements of electrical values in high voltage three phase AC systems. Also qualifying students for measurements of the impact of individual electrical components to the the environment. | |||

Contents of lectures | Cathode and a digital oscilloscope. Time domain measurements. Measuring AC bridges. Magnetic values measurements. Measurement of magnetic materials characteristics. Instrument transformers. Measurement of voltage, current, power and energy in high voltage three phase AC systems. Measurement systems on earthing systems. | |||
Contents of exercises | Independent laboratory exercises with 10 to 12 lab exercises that cover the entire theoretical material. The elaborate on measurements performed for each exercise. | |||

Methods of teaching | Theoretical study of visual presentation of measurement systems. Laboratory exercises with two students per a group, working independently from the choice of equipment and connectivity to metering schemes elaboration of measurements performed for each exercise. It is 10 to 12 lab exercises that cover the entire theoretical material. | |||
