The goal | Introduce students to the basic concepts of electrical measurements theory and the principles of electrical measuring instruments. Provide students with the ability to work independently and to perform the basic measurements of electrical parameters and quantities in the direct current and low voltage single and three phase alternating currents circuits.
The outcome | The students becomes qualified for perform basic measurements of electrical parameters and quantities in the direct current and low voltage single and three phase alternating currents circuits.
Contents | ||||
Contents of lectures | The art of measurements. Electrical units. Measurement methods and experimental accuracy. Measuring instruments. Voltage, current, resistance and power measurements in the direct current circuits. Self and mutual inductance, capacity and frequency measurements. Voltage, current, power and energy measurements in the low voltage single and three phase alternating current systems.
Contents of exercises | Independent laboratory exercises with 12 to 15 lab exercises that cover the entire theoretical material with the report with the results of the measurements performed for each exercise
