The goal | To give students the basic knowledge of integrated circuit design. Understanding of the elements of circuit and system design. To develop the ability of students for group work, problem analysis, design, comparative analysis of the results, testing, documenting and presentation methods. | |||

Contents of lectures | Short survey. CMOS production process. MOS transistor characteristics and models. SPICE transistor model parameters. Scaling. Full - custom IC design, rules, methods and practical design aspects. Standard - cell design. Design automation. Circuit extraction and simulation. Large capacitive loading, output buffers. Structured logic design, clocking. Ring oscillators. Dissipation. | |||
