    The goal Understanding role and principles of modern electronic contents management systems (CMS - Content Management System). Mastering types, functions, architecture, and infrastructure of CMS.
    The outcome Ability to use CMS for development of dynamic web-sites. Ability to design new or extend existing CMS for the specific domains of application.
    Contents
    Contents of lectures Definitions of CMS. CMS development history. Multimedia contents. Characteristic functions and components of CMS. Classification of CMS. Typical CMS architectures. Examples of widely available CMS. Web-oriented CMS. CMS in education (LCMS - Learning CMS). Case studies.
    Contents of exercises Development of a web portal using one of the available open source CMS. An upgrade of open source CMS by adding new functionalities and the web portal upgrade by using new characteristics of the CMS.
