The goal | Student will gain the basic knowledge about two most common types of power reactors which can be found in power system: current limiting reactors and reactors for filtering higher harmonics in order to improve the power quality. | |||
The outcome | Determination of necessity and selection of the adequate type of the power reactor. Testing of reactors characteristics and monitoring of their condition on site (necessery knowledge of maintenance of power system elements) | |||
Contents | ||||
Contents of lectures | Basic knowledge about reactors: classification, working principles, characterictic values. Air core current limiting power reactors. Harmonic filtering reactors (THD reactors). Design principles. Monitoring, testing and maintenance. | |||
Contents of exercises | Power reactors design using analytical formulas and finite elementh method (FEM). | |||
