    The goal Learning students basic protocols of modern computer networks and communication protocols.
    The outcome The course offers wide introduction of computer networks in general, based on communication protocols on different layers (from bottom to top layer). Having lectures on this course the students clearly figure out the functionality of computer network from physical up to application layer.

    Contents of lectures Internet protocol layers; LAN - Ethernet; switching, STP, RSTP, VLAN; WAN - HDLC, PPP, Frame Relay; Network layer – IP addressing, routing principles ARP, ICMP; Routing protocols - Distant Vector, RIP; Link State, OSPF, redistribution; Transport layer - TCP, UDP; Other protocols - RARP, BOOTP, DHCP, NAT; Application layer - DNS; IPv6 - auto-configuration, transition from IPv4 to IPv6.
