The goal | Goal of this course is to enable students to creatively solve issues related to the design and implementation of the switching systems.
The outcome | Students will implement modules of the switching systems, in software or hardware, or, they will analyze critical modules of the switching systems.
Contents | ||||
Contents of lectures | In this course, we will study protocols at the control plane of the switching systems, as well as the design of their hardware components: controllers, switching fabrics, packet processors etc. Course will also cover the system integration of the components. In addition, different switching architectures will be analyzed in terms of their implementational complexities and performance.
Contents of exercises | Work on a project will include hardware and software programming of the modules of switches and routers.
