    The goal Introducing students to high-voltage equipment testing and switching mechanisms in circuit breakers.
    The outcome Qualifying students for testing of high voltage equipment. Make students capable to understand AC and DC current interruption phenomena and stresses in the circuit breakers. Introducing students to methods for testing high-voltage circuit breakers and disconnectors.

    Contents of lectures High voltage switchig devices. Electric contacts. Switching arc. Classification of circuit breakers. Short circuit current interruption. Switching transients. Special switching situations. Stresses in the circuit breakers after the electric arc extintion. Methods for testing high-voltage switches and disconnectors.
    Contents of exercises Practical exercises throughout completely worked set of problems, laboratory measurements and computer simulations in ATP-EMTP and DIGSILENT.
