    The goal Introduces students to the basic physical laws of quantum generators and laser systems. Introduction to modeling of laser interaction (surgery, biostimulation, treatments, etc.), the fundamentals of measurement techniques in laser medicine and diagnosis, dosimetry and protection. Design and optimization of medical lasers.
    The outcome Students are capable to calculate laser parameters for the specific applications. Familiarity with measurement techniques, present and future lasers applications. Insight into biological tissue complexity. Self-consciousness on laser hazard and importance of radiation protection.

    Contents of lectures Introduction to laser physics and interaction of laser radiation with organic material. Construction of medical lasers. Applications of lasers for the purpose of surgical interventions, biostimulation, diagnostics, and therapy. Selected topics from laser dosimetry. The trend of further applications.
    Contents of exercises Photometry. Polarization. Modulation. Interaction with biological tissue. The principles of implementation (construction of practical systems). Calculation of output power and selection of operating modes of laser.
