Course specification
Course title Energy Engineering Fundamentals
Acronym 19E023OPE
Study programme Electrical Engineering and Computing
Module
Type of study bachelor academic studies
Lecturer (for classes)
Lecturer/Associate (for practice)
Lecturer/Associate (for OTC)
    ESPB 6.0 Status elective
    Condition
The goal Introduction to the basic concepts of energy engineering fundamentals with special accent on renewables, sustainability and substitution. Introducing students with different types of energy, energy efficiency of its transformation and transport. Recognizing the advantages of energy sources from the aspect of economic viability, ecology and energy policy.
The outcome Mastering energy transformations and state-of-the-art technologies for energy end-use. Students will be able to independently analyze: energy efficiency of different technical systems, economic cost-effectiveness of energy projects, the energy balance of buildings and GHG emissions.
