The goal | Introduce students to the basic concepts of active and reactive power flow control in power transmission networks. Familiarisation to functioning of FACTS devices based on elements of power electronics and the definition of their capabilities in the control of power flow in electrical power transmission networks.
The outcome | Provide students with the ability to design models and develop algorithms for the analysis of the effects of control devices in the transmission networks. Provide students with the ability to analyse impacts of flexible AC transmission system devices on static and dynamic performances of power systems.
