The goal | An acquaintance of students with basic terms in the software industry and the realization of a product, from a conceptual solution to software in production. Students will learn how to manage projects and how to develop a successful software MVP. Students will learn how to build their own tech startup through a team project and experiences that will be passed on to them by founders of IT startups. | |||
The outcome | Students will be able to participate in software development through various roles. The focus of the course will be on the development of a tech startup, such as a software product or service, which would go on the market. Students will learn how to develop their innovative ideas, apply new technologies and develop their own business models. The students will improve their soft skills. | |||

Contents of lectures | Software teams and roles. Classification of projects. PMI process groups and knowledge areas. Business and project plan and business models. Vision, mission, strategy. Scope and requirements analysis. Evaluation of projects. Application of agile methodologies in the tech startups dev. Market analysis. Project proposal and pitch PPT. MVP dev. Team management and communication. Digital marketing. | |||
Contents of exercises | Familiarization with the basic structures: list of requirements and RBS, technical specification, product and work breakdown structures. Initiation phase. Canvas business model. Project planning (CPM, Gantt, PERT). Time and budget management. Control and monitoring process. Management of risks, procurement, and quality. Closing phase. Work in Pencil, Figma, MS Project, Excel, and Atlassian JIRA. | |||
