The goal Introduction of basic concepts of real-time control, feedback control and implementation of control systems on programmable logic controllers PLC. Training students to analyze, design, implement and verify the control system for engineering applications.
The outcome Upon completion of this course the student will be able to: -Explain the concept of real-time process control -Appraise the key issues of computer process control. -Design and implement a DDC computer control system. -Design and implement PLC to control the process in accordance with the IEC61131 standard. -Design and implement a SCADA system

Contents of lectures Introduction to real time control Hardware requirements and interface with the computer PID structure; Implementation issues: choice of the sampling period, bumpless transfer, actuator wind-up, filtering, etc. PLC (programmable logic controllers) -programming by IEC61131 standard. Monitoring and supervision (SCADA systems) - Control (industrial) networks- Industrial Ethernet , PROFINET, MODBUS.
Contents of exercises Lab-work: Closing a feedback using a PLC, SCADA design and implementation, link between SCADA system and data base, communication with remote objects
