The goal | Introduce students to fundamentals and principles of fault tolerance. Explain the basic hardware and software fault tolerant architectures. Provide students with the ability to model, design and evaluate fault tolerant systems. | |||

Contents of lectures | Specification of fault tolerance. Hardware and software fault tolerant architectures. Reliability and fault tolerance in software. Modeling and evaluation of fault tolerant systems. Design of fault tolerant systems: methodology and case studies of recent designs. | |||
Contents of exercises | Students, organized in teams, select an appropriate project proposal from the Experience Repository (ER), design, implement and document the development process. | |||
