The goal | Teach the students about special optical fibers and other optical components used in the construction of optical sensors. Introduce the physical principles of operation, measurement techniques, classification and characterization of optical sensors. Based on this knowledge a student should be qualified to estimate when is optimal to use the optical sensors and how to do it.
The outcome | After the course student should know measuring methods used for optical sensors, as well as optical sensor types, and physical principles of operation. Student should be able to design and implement optical sensors for industry.
