13M061OMM - Wavelength Division Multiplexing Optical Networks

Course specification
Course title Wavelength Division Multiplexing Optical Networks
Acronym 13M061OMM
Study programme Electrical Engineering and Computing
Module
Type of study master academic studies
Lecturer (for classes)
Lecturer/Associate (for practice)
Lecturer/Associate (for OTC)
    ESPB 6.0 Status elective
Condition no, desirable prerequisite is passed exam in Optical Networks (13E064OMOM).
The goal 1) Introduce students to WDM technology. 2) Describing how modern optoelectronic devices used in WDM optical networks (ONs) operate. 3) Introduce students with measurement technique and tools used in WDM ONs. 3) Implementation of WDM ONs.
The outcome It is expected that students: 1) recognize modern WDM technology, 2) learn OAM (operation, administration and maintenance) of WDM ON and 3) understand measurement methods and introduce to tools used in maintenance and fault clearance, in WDM ON.
