The goal | Students will be able to design analog circuits using structured analog design methodology. Students will be able to design CMOS analog circuits using gm/ID methodology at the transistor level of a design. Students will be able to analyze and design all types of operational amplifiers, current conveyors and active filters.
The outcome | Based on an analog system specifications, students will be able to make behavioral model and simulations on the system level, circuit partitioning into basic analog blocks and derivation of the specifications for the blocks, topology selection for the blocks and transistor level design,circuit layout and post-layout simulations.
Contents | ||||
Contents of lectures | Structured analog design methodology. CMOS analog design using gm/ID methodology. Classification, characteristics and analysis of operational amplifiers. Low-noise amplifiers. Current conveyors. Active gm-C, current mode, and MOS translinear filters.
Contents of exercises | Design and simulation of an integrated analog circuit using CAD software package.
