Condition
The goal The students will be introduced to the current technologies, practical implementations as well as to the state of the art research of wireless sensors networks. Concepts, architecture, applications and E2E (end to end) protocols in wireless sensors networks will be studied in details. Wireless sensors network design and integration into the communication networks will be analyzed.
The outcome After completion of the course the students will be able to: - participate in the realization and implementation of wireless sensor network - participate in the integration of wireless sensor network with communication systems - use existing testbeds for conducting of experiments

Contents of lectures Definition of wireless sensors networks. Architecture of wireless sensors networks. Overview of main problems and research activities in wireless sensors networks. Standardization. Communication concept. Wireless sensors networks design. Network layers in wireless sensors networks. MAC/PHY layer.Routing protocols and data aggregation. Naming and addressing.
Contents of exercises Hardware and software platforms analysis. Principles of integration in communications networks. Tesbeds, experiments and integration. Middleware for dynamic integration and management of intelligent objects (SENSEI testbed, FIRE)
