The goal | Introduction of the basic concepts of digital protection of power system. Explanation of the basic methods for signal processing used in digital protection systems in high voltage substations. | |||

Contents of lectures | Signal parameters estimation in power systems using the least squares technique, Newton's iterative method, Fourier method and zero-crossing method. Primary and secondary arcing fault detection on overhead lines. Numerical algorithms for directional relays based on the phase and amplitude comparisons. | |||
