Relational Algebra & Calculus, SQL. Optimization of Relational Queries. Object-Oriented Database Systems. Object-Relational Database Systems.Transaction processing. Validation techniques. Crash recovery. Commercial Systems.
Contents of exercises Laboratory exercises: Design and implementation of concrete data base using commercially available DBMS.

Methods of teaching 30 hours of lectures + 30 hours of supervised problem classes + 15 hours of supervised laboratory classes, midterm tests and project.
