The goal | Introduce students with some mathematical notions and facts which are an extension of knowledge acquired in Mathematics 1 and 2. Capacitate students to use the mathematical apparatus in other courses.
The outcome | Student will easily recognize problems inherent in their technical courses and apply acquired knowledge, especially to solve problems of differential and integral calculus. Student will be capable to analyse basic features of functions in mathematical modeling of different problems. Students get a mathematical basis and also practical hints in treating problems within the scope of their discipline.
Contents | ||||
Contents of lectures | First order predicate calculus. Metric spaces and convergence. Differential equations : various types and applications. Difference equations and applications. Applications of differential calculus and polinomial analitical properties to numerical equations solving. Some computer tools and packages for integral calculus and other mathematical fields. Graphs and matrices: applications to solving systems of linear algebraic equations.
Contents of exercises | Practical assignments related to the theoretical component (lectures). Through examples, tasks and problems student learns how to apply theorems and basic concepts that are learnt through theoretical contents.
