The goal | Introduce students to the fundamentals of modeling of object’s space motion, guidance methods, physical and dynamic aspects of moving object trackers, as well as of equipment and algorithms used in the autopilot design. Understanding of the nature of guidance process from maneuver requirements, stability, physical nature of system noise and disturbances, and overall accuracy aspects of view.
The outcome | Understanding of the nature of guidance process from the aspects of: dynamics, maneuver requirements, stability, nature of noise and disturbances, and accuracy. Enabling the students for modeling of a guidance process and analysis and syntesis of guidance and control systems.
Contents | ||||
Contents of lectures | Kinematic model: coordinate frames of interest, calculation of object’s position, velocity, and acceleration. Dynamic model: forces and moments acting on the object, disturbances, aerodynamic transfer functions. Guidance methods for two and three point guidance. Accuracy analysis of proportional navigation. Physical and dynamic aspects of target trackers. Autopilot modeling and analysis and design
Contents of exercises | Examples of guidance and stabilization systems: Automatic aircraft landing system, angular stabilization of an artificial orbital Earth satellite. Realization of simulation models of guidance process, target tracking, and angular stabilization of an flying object.
