    The goal Introducing students to the basic software tools needed to solve various problems in the later years of study, Matlab, Simulink, signal acquisition.
    The outcome Students will be able to use software packages Matlab and Simulink to solve various engineering problems (optimization, analysis of continuous and discrete signals and systems, digital signal processing, automatic control, signal acquisition etc).

    Contents of lectures Theoretical basis for understanding the problem statements and adopted methods for which solutions are obtained by aid of software tools.
    Contents of exercises Basics of software package Matlab. Analysis of functions defined analytically and numerically. Solving systems of (non)linear equations. Optimization of functions with one or multiple parameters. Acquisiotion and analysis of real signals and communication with hardware. Simulink and systems analysis in Simulink.
