    The goal The course will introduce students to the principles of the layered TCP/IP architecture, and its basic protocols. It will also relate Internet applications to the IP network infrastructure.
    The outcome Students will learn basic principles of the Internet functioning.
    Contents
    Contents of lectures Principles of the TCP/IP protocol stack. Basic principles of the link layer. Networking devices: packet switches, bridges, routers. Briging (STA). IP addressing, and related protocols (ARP,DHCP). Routing (OSPF,IS-IS,RIP,BGP). Transport layer including congestion control (UDP,TCP,RTP). Applications on the Internet. Fundamentals of the network security (IPsec,HTTPS,PGP).
    Contents of exercises Precepts demonstrating most important protocols on the Internet.
