| The goal | The course will introduce students to the principles of the layered TCP/IP architecture, and its basic protocols. It will also relate Internet applications to the IP network infrastructure. | |||

| Contents of lectures | Principles of the TCP/IP protocol stack. Basic principles of the link layer. Networking devices: packet switches, bridges, routers. Briging (STA). IP addressing, and related protocols (ARP,DHCP). Routing (OSPF,IS-IS,RIP,BGP). Transport layer including congestion control (UDP,TCP,RTP). Applications on the Internet. Fundamentals of the network security (IPsec,HTTPS,PGP). | |||
