The goal | Introduction into physics of electrical discharges in different materials. Enabling students for high voltage equipment laboratory testing and measurement as well as interpretation of results. | |||
The outcome | Students learn to understand the principles of operation of the equipment in high voltage laboratories, designing equipment for high voltage laboratories and maintenance. Students learn to conduct high-voltage measurement and interpretation of results. | |||
Contents | ||||
Contents of lectures | Discharge in gases, liquid and solid dielectrics. Alternating, direct and impulse high voltage sources. Conventional and unconventional measurements of high voltages and currents. The concept of planning of high-voltage laboratories. | |||
Contents of exercises | Practical teaching is related to the performing experimental exercises in the laboratory and computational tasks in the classroom. | |||
