The goal Introducing students to the basic concepts of computer - aided design in power engineering. Modeling and Simulation. Introducing students to the technical aspects of the calculation in power engineering. Training students to create project documentation using the most important software tools. Introducing students to the areas and processes in project management and implementation of MS Project.
The outcome The following learning outcomes of the course will be realized: performing the modeling and simulation, defining the mathematical model, translating into a computer program and verification of software compared to actual data from power systems, application carefully selected software tools to solve a series of 2D and 3D engineering problems in the field of power engineering.

Contents of lectures Introduction. Modeling and Simulation. Making software. MATLAB with additional modules. Application of software tools for data bases creation in power engineering. Application of specialized CAD / CAE programs. Programs for making the drafting documentation. Application of programs for project management. Definition of a project. Participants in realization of the project. Types of contracts.
Contents of exercises Practical part includes the exercises of the board and exercises on the computer. Making software. Solving designing a series of problems using MATLAB and additional modules. Tasks from the application of data base programs in power engineering. Tasks with advanced application techniques of program AutoCAD. Making examples of project management.
