The goal The objectives are to introduce students to to the fundamental characteristics of modern disks and disk controllers, complex storage systems (storage systems, NAS, SAN), RAID systems, file systems and modern techniques to accelerate the disk and file systems.
The outcome The outcome of teaching is the basis for deep understanding of various fields in disk I/O systems. Students will be able to administer and optimize the disk systems and file systems under most modern operating systems.
