The goal | The aim of the course is to familiarize students with measurement instrumentation and methods of measurement of ionizing and non-ionizing radiation. | |||
The outcome | After successful completion of the course students are: (1) mastered the methods of measurement of ionizing and non-ionizing radiation, (2) acquire communication and social skills to work in the engineering group, (3) acquire communication skills to clearly formulate and present problems. | |||

Contents of lectures | Levels of exposure to ionizing radiation in the environment and methods for dose calculation. Radiofrequency radiation and numerical methods for assessing exposure to these radiations. Measuring methods for assessing exposure to RF radiation around telecommunication base stations. The practical application of measurement methods. Biological effects of nonionizing electromagnetic fields. | |||
