      Condition Digital signal processing
The goal Introduce students to the basics sigma-delta signal processing theory. Introduction to the use of sigma delta modulation in wideband and narrowband AD and DA converters, high-resolution analog and digital filters, amplitude and phase modulators, correlators, adders, digital synthesizers, oscillators, compandors, expandors, frequency discriminators, power drivers, etc..
The outcome Increased knowledge in the analysis and design of high resolution sigma-delta AD and DA converters. Knowledge of the use of delta-sigma principles in implementation of different circuits for analog and digital signal processing.
      Contents
Contents of lectures Sampling. Quantization noise and oversampling. Sigma-delta modulation of the first order. Sigma-delta modulation of a higher order. Noise and limit cycles. Cascade modulation. Stability. Narrowband modulators. Decimation filters. AD and DA converters.
Contents of exercises Signal processing in sigma-delta domain as an alternative to analog, discrete and digital signal processing. Realization of circuits for signal processing using sigma delta principle: amplitude and phase modulators, correlators, adders, frequency synthesizers, oscillators, compandors, expandors, frequency discriminators, power drivers.
