The goal | Introducing students to power converter configurations and their implementation in various industrial environments. Qualifying students in integrating and applying previous knowledge to analyze and design systems with beater performance of power converter systems. | |||
The outcome | Students should understand principles of operation of the analyzed power converter configurations. Based on the obtained knowledge, and for given operating conditions, students should be able to choose the appropriate controller and converter topology. | |||

Contents of lectures | Current source inverters. Resonant power converters with soft switching, their efficiency and EMC compatibility. Converters for power factor correction. Converters for step motors. Cycloconverters for motor drives. | |||
