Abstract:
We are witnessing increased penetration of Python in various scientific fields. This is largely due to three things: i) the powerful and ever expanding ecosystem of modules that support the development of scientific and engineering software, ii) all of these modules and Python itself being free software, and iii) the large community of scientists, engineers and users supporting this ecosystem. In fact, these strengths have led to the advancement of Python to the first place, i.e. the de facto standard in some areas, e.g. machine and deep learning and more generally AI. The talk will focus on the use of Python in Biomedical Engineering. The presenter will share his experience with teaching Biomedical Engineering using Python at the FEEIT in Skopje, Macedonia. He will also share his scientific work in this area. The talk will cover the processing of various biomedical signals and images including: EMG, ECG, EEG, microwave imaging, microscopy, CT, MRI, and fMRI.
